Each year, the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament is held in Lake Tahoe. Because it just a couple hours from the Bay Area, it tends to attract a lot of Bay Area sports stars. This year there are quite a few Raiders players are in attendance.
Sebastian Janikowski is among the current Raiders playing today. The Raiders Pro Bowl kicker is known for having his clubs on hand at Raiders training camp in Napa each year so he can play some of the nice courses up in Napa. Before he takes to the links in wine country, he is joining other sports stars and celebrities in Tahoe.
Janikowski is paired up with two other NFL kickers - Ryan Succop and Robbie Gould.
Other former Raiders and Raider Legends playing in the tournament include Marcus Allen, Tim Brown, Jerry Rice, and Carson Palmer.
Marcus Allen and Carson Palmer (both USC alums) are paired up together. Two former Raiders great receivers are paired with former California quarterbacks. Tim Brown is paired with Frenso State alum, Trent Dilfer, while Jerry Rice is paired with Stanford alum, John Elway.
Other notable Bay Area sports stars participating are Golden State Warriors guard, Stephen Curry (though they spell his name wrong on their website), former Oakland Athletics players Jermaine Dye and Mark Mulder, Cal alums Herman Edwards and Aaron Rodgers, and former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith.
Notable celebrities playing also on these teams include Ray Ramano, Larry the Cable Guy, Kevin Nealon, and Lucas Black.
