Kaluka Maiava left practice today with an unknown injury. Following practice, Dennis Allen listed him among those players injured but said none of those players' injuries were serious. Maiava isn't feeling like it's nothing serious about now.
The new Raiders linebacker came out of the locker room following practice on crutches and sporting a walking boot on his left foot. It was clear by how he slowly he was moving and the grimace on his face that it was not a precautionary measure.
Maiava already had to deal with an issue this off-season after having charges filed against him for assault from an incident in a bar in Hawaii last March. He had a court date the first day of training camp. So, his week has consisted of appearing in court, hopping on a plan, having his first training camp practice, and then going down with an injury that looks like it could have him out a while.
No word yet on what the injury is or the actual severity of the injury. The walking boot would suggest it is either a foot or ankle injury.
He and Kevin Burnett were splitting time at strong side linebacker. Burnett will take the first team duties alone in his absence.
