Dennis Allen was asked today who his standouts were in the Raiders second preseason game and he provided a few names.

Everyone has their opinions on who they thought played well for the Raiders in Friday's preseason match-up against the Saints. I had my Ballers & Busters for that. Today Dennis Allen laid out the players he thought stood out in the game.

"Both the punters I thought punted well. I thought both of them executed pretty well," said Allen. "There were a few players on defense I thought, in the second half specifically, stood out to me. I thought Brandian Ross played really well from the safety and the nickel position. I thought Usama Young played well last night. I thought Jack Crawford took a step forward last night. I think those were kind of the three guys that stood out really consistently. I mean, there were other players that made some big plays in the game, especially in the second half, but I think those guys were the most consistent as far as the way they played the whole time they were playing."

In the same conversation, Dennis Allen also said Marquette King had closed the gap on Chris Kluwe to make that an even competition heading into the team's final two preseason games.

Brandian Ross was an honorable mention in my Ballers & Busters. He was around the ball a lot including a tackle for loss and a forced fumble. He finished with three tackles in the game.

Usama Young didn't do anything spectacular or game-changing but he also didn't make any big mistakes. He finished with two tackles on defense and a tackle on special teams.

Jack Crawford  was my top Baller for this game. He lit it up in the second half, filling up the stat sheet. He was second on the team in tackles (5) with a sack, a QB pressure, a fumble recovery, and two tackles on special teams.

As Allen points out, the plays in this game were made by the second team defense.
