Two more starting players returned to practice for the Raiders today. Defensive tackle, Pat Sims, and linebacker Kevin Burnett both took the field.
Sims has been out all but part of a day this camp. He was initially on the active PUP list to begin camp. He returned two weeks ago but left the field in the middle of practice after re-aggravating his hamstring injury. He was limited in practice and stayed out of certain drills. I wouldn't expect him to play Friday when the team hosts the Chicago Bears in their third preseason game.
His return signals the first time the Raider entire starting defensive line has been on the field together all of camp. On the day Sims came back for part of practice, Vance Walker was not at practice while his wife was having a baby.
Burnett was injured in last Friday's game against the Saints and had missed the past two days of practice.
The team was in shells today with no hitting. I expect the players to be in pads and full contact tomorrow which will be a big test for them.
