If there is any preseason game fans actually find watchable, it's the third one. That's when we see the starters for the most extended time. The question is; which players will actually suit up and which will sit this one out? We'll start with who won't play and go from there.
The Raiders had several players return to practice this week for the first time in a while. But many of those players will not be playing Friday. Those players include Pat Sims, Keenan Clayton, and Menelik Watson.
Also not playing this week will be Tyvon Branch who has sore ribs. Brandian Ross will take his place in the lineup with the first team.
The others who are out this week include: Miles Burris (knee), Kaluka Maiava (ankle), Tracy Porter (groin), Latavius Murray (ankle), Jared Veldheer (triceps), Brandon Bair (undisclosed), Juron Criner (undisclosed), and David Ausberry (shoulder).
Questionable: Mike Brisiel, Nick Kasa, Jacoby Ford, and Kevin Burnett
Two starting defensive linemen are expected to see their first game action Friday - Lamarr Houston and Vance Walker.
Both players have been injured for the team's first two preseason games and their return gives the Raiders the closest to a full starting defensive line they have had all preseason.
D.J. Hayden will make his Raiders debut as the starter at right cornerback.
Technically, this leaves the Raiders without just three starters - Jared Veldheer, David Ausberry, and Pat Sims.
All others are expected to be available for the game.
