Just in time to fight for their jobs, Tracy Porter and Juron Criner are back at practice for the Raiders.
Porter left the Raiders week two preseason game in New Orleanss with a groin injury. Dennis Allen said it was nothing serious but that the starting corner would be doubtful for last Friday's preseason game against the Bears. Rookie first round pick D.J. Hayden started in his place in his first game as a Raider.
Hayden is competing with Porter for the starting right corner position. In the game against New Orleans, Porter didn't look good at all before he left with his injury. Hayden started off a little bit rusty against the Bears but had a pass breakup and played well after that.
Criner had been out for the past couple weeks with an undisclosed injury. He is in a battle for spot on this team. He already has the Denarius Moore, Rod Streater, and Jacoby Ford ahead of him for certain. Rookie Brice Butler has also looked very good and has earned time with the first team. Criner will be battling for what could be the fifth and final wide receiver spot and there's no guarantees he'll win that battle. He will have the week of practice and the final preseason game to show the team whether he deserves a roster spot.
