The Raiders needed to get down to the 75 man limit by 1pm today. To get down to the limit they announced they placed Miles Burris on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, placed Latavius Murray and Joselio Hanson on Injured reserve.

The team also added kicker Justin Medlock to take over for the injured Sebastian Janikowski for the final game of the preseason. To make room for Medlock, the team waived cornberback Mitchell White.

Latavius Murray had been out much of camp with an undisclosed injury. He played in the team's preseason opener but was promptly back out of practice. There was high hoped for this rookie sixth round pick. Now he will be lost for the season.

Joselio Hanson's IR designation comes as a surprise. He played in the team's week three preseason game against the Bears and even had an interception. He was the team's primary slot/nickel corner last season. Dennis Allen said yesterday that Tracy Porter was taking over those duties which now sounds like a precursor for Hanson being lost for the season.

Justin Medlock has played in 11 career games, including 10 with the Carolina Panthers in 2012, and has made 8-of-12 field-goal attempts in two NFL seasons. He also spent three years in the Canadian Football League, playing two seasons for the Toronto Argonauts (2009-10) and one year with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2011).

Medlock was a college teammate of punter Chris Kluwe for two seasons (2003-04). He is also a Bay Area native, Medlock attended Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, Calif.
