It's the match-up everyone wanted to see. The Super Bowl favorite Seahawks against last year's NFC Super Bowl team, the 49ers. Thus far the 49ers have had a tougher road as they have had to win two games to get here while the Seahawks have had to win just one. None of those wins matter now. This one's for the trophy. Here's the information you need to know:
Who: (5) San Francisco 49ers vs (1) Seattle Seahawks
What: NFC Championship game
When: Sunday, January 19, 3:30pm Pacific Time
Where: Century Link Field, Seattle WA
TV: FOX
Online: Fox Sports To Go
It's Russell Wilson vs Colin Kaepernick, its two great defenses, it's the loudest venue in the NFL.
The Seahawks have Marshawn Lynch aka "Beast Mode", while the 49ers counter with Frank Gore.
On defense, the 49ers have the best linebacking corps in football with three Pro Bowlers in Ahmad Brooks, Patrick Willis, and Navorro Bowman - the latter two are All Pros. The Seahawks have the best secondary in all of football with Pro Bowlers Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, and Earl Thomas - the latter two also All Pros.
These two division rivals split the season series, with each losing in the other team's home. This game is in Seattle where the Seahawks creamed the 49ers 29-3 early in the season. The 49ers would win a close game 19-17 in San Francisco. Advantage Seahawks.
This will be one heck of a game. I am guessing most Raiders fans will be rooting for the Seahawks in this one.
