Vincent Brown injures hamstring, questionable to face former team on Raiders injury report

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

When the Raiders signed Vincent Brown three weeks ago, Brown and the team undoubtedly had this game against the Chargers circled. Brown was drafted by the Chargers in the third round of the 2011 draft and as a rookie looked like he could be a future star for the team. Then after injuries kept him out all of 2012, he started 12 games last season and put up some good numbers.

But come this off-season injuries set in again and had him out all of training camp. The Chargers placed him on injured reserve and later waived him on an injury settlement. When he was healthy, the Raiders signed him to bolster their wide receiver corps with just enough time to get acclimated to the team and the playbook in time to face his former team.

Now, that may not happen as Brown injured his hamstring in practice and officially questionable for the game.

His contributions would come in handy against a tough Chargers team, mainly due to his knowledge of their defense. The Raiders receiving corps is well-stocked otherwise, with James Jones, Andre Holmes, Denarius Moore, and the newly signed Kenbrell Thompkins all healthy.

Also questionable for the game are Derek Carr (knee, ankle), Sio Moore (ankle), and Marcel Reece (quad). Khalif Barnes (quad), and Keith McGill (groin) are OUT.
