Reports last week from Rod Streater's agent said the wide receiver could return from his broken foot in 4-5 weeks. But with roster spots at a premium, the Raiders placed Streater on Injured Reserve Designated for Return.
This mean Streater will not be able to practice for the next six weeks (November 13) and not be eligible to return to the active roster for eight weeks (November 27). That means he will be back in time for the Raiders' week 13 game in St Louis and be active for the final five games of the season.
The third year receiver was a starter this season. He had nine catches for 84 yards and a touchdown in three starts this season. He broke his foot in New England, as did Tyvon Branch who was placed on season ending injured reserve.
Remaining receivers on the active roster are James Jones, Andre Holmes, Denarius Moore, Vincent Brown, and Brice Butler. Having five receivers allows them not to have to call up a receiver from the practice squad or sign one as a free agent. They can fill Streater's vacant roster spot with a player at another position.
