LaMarr Woodley, Usama Young confirmed out for the year

Earlier this week, Raiders head coach Tony Sparano suggested the injuries to Usama Young and LaMarr Woodley could be serious. Friday he confirmed both will be lost for the remainder of the season.

Both Woodley and Young suffered their injuries against the Cardinals last Sunday. Young left the game and was carted off the field with what was later determined to be and ACL/MCL tear. Woodley left in the third quarter with a tear in his right biceps.

The Raiders will be making the roster moves tonight or tomorrow with the team sending these two to injured reserve and calling up players from the practice squad to replace them.

There is no safety on the practice squad at the moment to call up. They currently have three safeties on the roster in Charles Woodson, Brandian Ross, and seventh round rookie Jonathan Dowling.

There are two defensive ends on the practice squad -- seventh round pick Shelby Harris and undrafted Denico Autry.

Another direction they could go for a call up is tight end. With David Ausberry ruled OUT for Sunday's game, they are down to just Mychal Rivera and Brian Leonhardt. The team has undrafted rookie Scott Simonson on the practice squad.
