DJ Hayden "good to go" off PUP, game time decision vs Browns

Last week was the first week Raiders second year cornerback, D.J. Hayden was eligible to come off the Physically Unable to Perform list. He returned to practice during the week but was not activated for the game. Now he's been through his second week of practice which head coach Tony Sparano said Hayden's workload increased. But his status for the game in Cleveland Sunday is still unclear.

"We'll see," Sparano said of Hayden's playing status. "We're going to go back in there, we're going to talk about it and see how he does here when we get down there and see where he is."

"He's coming along good, no real issues injury wise, I mean with the injury or anything like that. Most of DJ's stuff has been from not playing and anything like that. So, just normal, everyday not playing soreness, but he's good to go."

The Raiders currently are not desperate for his services at cornerback. Outside of Carlos Rogers' hurt knee, which Sparano says is not a concern, they are pretty healthy along with Tarell Brown, T.J. CarrieNeiko Thorpe, and Chimdi Chekwa.

One possible scenario would be activating Hayden as fourth string dime back this week. The Raiders will be putting Usama Young on injured reserve so a roster spot will be open. Neiko Thorpe has experience as a safety so he can be the fourth option there behind Charles Woodson, Brandian Ross, and Jonathan Dowling.
