NFL week 9 game picks: Raiders keep it rolling in Seattle

What began as a pretty solid week of picks, went haywire once the West Coast games began and continued through Sunday and Monday Night. The staff had three consensus picks in those late games, and each of them suffered an upset. In fact, the only game from the afternoon on that went as most expected was... the Raiders losing to the Browns.

Two of the guys -- Tyler and Marcus -- had the Raiders pulling out their first win of the season. That didn't work out so well.

Of the rogue picks this week, only two of them worked in the favor of the prognosticator. One was RDreamer picking the Cardinals to beat the Eagles and getting that one right helped him have the best record for the week at 10-5. The other was Marcus picking the Bengals over the Ravens. If he hadn't picked the Raiders over the Browns, he would have tied for the top spot. Even still his 9-6 record pulled him out of sole possession of last place.

The top two spots for the fourth straight week with yet another tie for the week are Tyler and myself. I actually thought the Jets would win at home and Tyler went with the Raiders over the Browns.

There is no such straggling faith in the 0-7 Raiders this week as no one is picking them to beat the defending champs in their house. At least until we hear was Raiderdamus has in store in his Friday Foretellng. Otherwise, it's roll on to 0-8 as we see it.

This week there are eight consensus picks. Those picks are the Browns, Eagles, Chiefs, Bengals, Chargers, 49ers, Seahawks*, and Colts.

Swinging for the fences and risking striking out is Marcus picking the Panthers over the Saints and the Cowboys over the Cardinals, myself who has the Patriots handling the Broncos in Foxboro, and Jeff who has the Ravens taking out the Steelers.
