Carlos Rogers is doubtful for Sunday's game with a knee injury according to Raiders head coach Tony Sparano said Friday. His status in doubt, the obvious question is whether we could see DJ Hayden back in the starting lineup this week. Hayden returned from the PUP list three weeks ago and was activated for the first time last week against the Browns.
Hayden saw just five snaps in his first game back as the coaching staff doesn't want to rush him back. And up to this point, they haven't needed to. It's likely Rogers won't play Sunday, leading to the distinct possibility that we will see Hayden's snaps increase considerably.
Whether Hayden starts or not is another issue. The team also has rookie T.J. Carrie who has been arguably the best cornerback on this team this season. Carrie could very well step into the starting role with Hayden entering the game in the nickel. Even still, the Raiders play a good amount of nickel which means Hayden would see a lot of playing time.
