The Raiders have officially announced they have claimed linebacker Ray Ray Armstrong who was waived by the Rams. The third-year linebacker was waived by the Rams on Monday.

The second-year linebacker has appeared in all 20 games for the Rams since they signed him as an undrafted free agent out of University of Miami (FL) prior to last season. He has played almost exclusively on special teams. As a defnder he has played in four games with just 22 snaps. He recorded three tackles as a defender last season but has not recorded a stat this season on one defensive snap.

The 6-3, 234-pound linebacker is a standout special teams player and last season led the team with 12 stops on coverage teams.

Armstrong replaces Kaluka Maiava on the roster after Maiava was placed on season ending injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

The Raiders now have four healthy linebackers along with Khalil Mack, Miles Burris, and Bojay Filimoeatu.
