The Raiders had their first practice of the week since their Thursday Night win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Among those not practicing were running back Latavius Murray and offensive guard Gabe Jackson. Returning to practice was cornerback and return man T.J. Carrie according to media present at practice.
Murray suffered a concussion against the Chiefs Thursday and must go through the concussion protocol. The concussion happened on a hit he took on this fourth carry of the game. It caused him to fumble the ball, but the Raiders recovered it. The Raiders would very much like him back healthy. He had 112 yards and 2 touchdowns on those four carries. This after running for 37 yards on his first two carries the previous game in San Diego.
Gabe Jackson is nursing an injured knee. He was practicing limited last week and with a long week, there is no need to have him back out there Monday. He has been out for the past couple weeks and replaced by Khalif Barnes as the starting left guard.
TJ Carrie returns from an ankle injury that caused him to miss the Chiefs game. It also limited his play against the Chargers the week before, including not returning punts or kicks as he normally does. The Raiders could use his services as much as a cornerback as a return man. Probably even more so in the return game as they have been forced to turn to Charles Woodson on punt returns and Latavius Murray on kicks.
