As our election day coverage continues, many of the polls across the country are closing as we speak. But not this one. These polls stay open until tomorrow. The next item on the ballot is Surprise Player of the Midterm. Here are the candidates:
T.J. Carrie -- When you pick a player in the seventh round, you don't expect him to be the best cornerback on the team along with being a standout kick and punt returner.
Gabe Jackson -- Jackson played well enough as a third round rookie, he had the team move Khalif Barnes back to right tackle ahead of last year's second round pick, Menelik Watson. And he has not disappointed as one of the better run blockers on the team.
Benson Mayowa -- Signed off waivers from the Seahawks just prior to the start of the season, this former underafted free agent had his first start two weeks ago and looks like a great find. He has done the job at defensive end which LaMarr Woodley did not. It's a small sample size thus far but a good one.
Charles Woodson -- Dude's 38-years of age and consistently makes plays both in run defense and in coverage. At this rate he looks like he could play a couple more years. Why not, Charles. Let's go for 40.
Also cast your votes for Rookie, Newcomer, Disappointing Addition, Offensive Player, and Defensive Player.
