We know Derek Carr is the little brother of David Carr. We know he followed in his brother's footsteps at Fresno State and grew up in Bakersfield California in the Central Valley. But what many may not know is that the Raiders are in his blood.
Derek has declared for the 2014 draft and is expected to be selected somewhere in the first two rounds. The Raiders currently have two selections in the first 35 picks. If they were to use one of those picks on Carr, that would make his family very happy.
"To tell you the truth, my whole family has always been for the Cowboys and for the Raiders," said Carr in an interview with Bay Area radio station, 95.7 The Game. "My uncle played for the Raiders so we have a little Black and Silver in us."
"My uncle was Lonn Boyett. He played tight end back when coach Madden was the coach."
Derek's brother Darren took to Twitter a short time later to post a picture he had of his uncle while he was with the Raiders.

Lon Boyett was a graduate of Cal State Northridge. He never appeared in a game for the Raiders. He spent one season in the NFL, appearing in three games for the 49ers in 1978.
