Report: Chris Boniol to join Raiders as assistant special teams coordinator

New, comments

The Raiders coaching staff is almost complete with reports from Pete Roussel of coachingsearch.com are that former Cowboys assistant, Chris Boniol is set to join the Raiders as assistant special teams coordinator.

Boniol had spent the past four seasons with the Cowboys in the same position. He will replace Keith Burns who the Raiders didn't bring back for next season.

Special teams coordinator Bobby April was among those assistants whose contract was renewed this off-season.

Boniol is a former NFL kicker who spent five seasons in the league. He spent his first three seasons with the Cowboys, including being part of their Super Bowl XXX championship team. He played two more seasons with the Eagles and Bears respectively.

The only position still remaining to fill on the coaching staff is that of assistant strength and conditioning coach. Former strength and conditioning coach, Al Miller, was not brought back while John Greico was promoted to the position.
