Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews visits Raiders

The quality of the prospects visiting the Raiders of late has been rising into the top two round of late. The latest has Vanderbilt wide receiver, Jordan Matthews visiting the team Monday according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. This after reports of UCF quarterback Blake Bortles was reported as visiting.

Matthews is widely seen as a prospect who is expected to come off the board in the second round of the draft. With the numbers he put up the past couple seasons at Vanderbilt you can see the reason why.

The 6-3, 210-pound receiver caught 112 passes last season for 1,477 yards and 7 touchdowns. He improved upon an already impressive junior season in which he caught 94 passes for 1,323 yards and 8 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he led the SEC averaging 19.0 yards per catch.

Matthews ran a decent 4.46 40-yard dash as the combine. Where he stood out was his 21 reps on the 225 pound bench press which was second most at the combine among receivers.

He is a cousin of Hall of Fame wide receiver and former Raider, Jerry Rice.
