AFC West
Chargers:
The San Diego Chargers absolutely needed to upgrade their cornerback position this off-season and they knew it. They spent their first round pick on a CB named Jason Varrett out of TCU but that still wasn't enough to consider the position satisfied after Derek Cox left in FA for Minnesota. Now they can definitely claim the position as upgraded because they managed to reel in Brandon Flowers yesterday.

The Chargers also appear to have struck gold with their 2013 first round pick DJ Fluker who ended up playing like the the best Offensive Lineman from last year's class. He may have been impressive last year but thanks to training in boxing he sounds like he is going to be even more impressive this season.

Chiefs:
The Oakland Raiders had one of the best drafts in the league this year, but the Kansas City Chiefs didn't do bad themselves. Here is a good chance to get to know what they acquired a little better with 20 things to know about their draft. First round pick Dee Ford is not the only score for the division rival.

We have already taken a look at the Raiders, Chargers, and Broncos 2014 Depth Chart reviews by Pro Football Focus, so why not the Chiefs article too! The one major spot that comes out at you is the Offensive Line. They have 4 out of 5 starters listed as below average starters and then a whole lot of unknown quantities in their depth. What else can you gleam off of this interesting chart?

Broncos:
We already know that the Raiders prefer the "Pay as you Go" plan, but how about the Denver Broncos? How do they structure their contracts? The old regime in Denver didn't spend their money wisely at all times under Mike Shanahan, but under John Elway they definitely are protecting their future cap space much better.

Julius Thomas is getting all of the attention for the Broncos Tight End department and rightfully so. Don't sleep however on Denver's veteran back up TE Virgil Green who actually grades out pretty well. This is an in depth and nicely done scouting report on the lesser known TE for the Broncos, plus there is a gold mine of links to other veteran scouting reports too.

NFL
The San Francisco 49ers and their Tight End Vernon Davis are at a standoff in their perceptions about Davis' contract which is quite the Catch-22. Vernon believes he is worth more and is in a hold out right now from reporting to the team, but the 49ers wont talk to him about his contract until he reports to camp. The Seahawks CB Richard Sherman is speaking up about the situation and saying that Davis should hold his ground if he believes in what he is doing.

Authors note: That title would probably be about an entirely different topic if it was for Aldon Smith instead of Vernon Davis.
Doug Flutie made a name for himself before he ever played professionally by completing the most famous Hail Mary pass in history while attending Boston College. After failing to make an immediate impression in the NFL, Flutie decided to try out the Canadian Football League where he became the leagues biggest star. He is opening up about how much he enjoyed the league to the North and how the NFL is becoming more like the CFL every year.
