Mike Zarrilli

Every now and then, the United States shows up on the radar in the round football. This is one of those years as they have made their way into the round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup. After the first round was the best two teams of a group of four, the tournament is now win or go home.

The USMNT faces off against Belgium today and unlike the first round, nothing but a win will do. They are no situations in which they can lose and still move on as happened versus Germany and they can't tie as they did against Portugal.

There are no ties from here on out. If it is tied at the end of regulation, they play two more 15 minute periods. If it's still tied after that, they use free kicks. One way or another, someone will win and someone will go home.

The big news for the US heading into this game is the return of Jozy Altidore from a hamstring injury he suffered in the team's opening match against Ghana. He will be available should he be needed but will not start the match.

The match starts at 1:00pm Pacific Time (4:00pm Eastern) today.
