We're now four days into Raiders training camp and the receiving corps is looking a little peeked. A position that was at full strength coming in now suddenly has several key members missing time.
Rod Streater went down late in practice on Sunday and it was discovered he has a concussion. He was sidelined for practice on Monday and will have to go through the concussion protocol in order to return.
Also going out with a concussion on Sunday was tight end, Jake Murphy. He joined Nick Kasa who has been out all of camp on the PUP list.
A surprise addition to the sideline club was that of Juron Criner. He suffered a hamstring injury at some point during Sunday's practice.
By the end of practice, there was one more receiver who was not out there - Greg Little. His injury is unknown, however he appeared to have injured himself in Sunday's practice as well. Usually it's a situation where the player tries to make it work but is unable to do it.
Also during practice, James Jones seemed to have gotten a little banged up but he finished practice and appeared to be ok. He has been Matt Schaub's favorite target in camp so having him available is key.
The Raiders still have quite a few options at wide receiver, and with these guys out, they just get more work. The remaining receivers who are full healthy are Denarius Moore, Andre Holmes, Greg Jenkins, Brice Butler, Rahsaan Vaughn, Mike Davis, and Seth Roberts.
At tight end they still have David Ausberry, Mychal Rivera, Brian Leonhardt, and Scott Simonson.
Injuries at other positions include Shelton Johnson (hamstring), Kaluka Maiava (hamstring), Marshall McFadden (hip flexor). The PUP list consists of DJ Hayden (foot), Usama Young (quad), Lucas Nix (knee), and Kasa. The NFI list is Stacy McGee and C.J. Wilson.
The Raiders have Tuesday off to try and heal up some before return to practice Wednesday.
