Raiders sell out home opener vs Texans, televised locally

The official word has come down and the Raiders have sold out their 2014 season home opener against the Houston Texans on Sunday. This means the game will be televised locally in the Bay Area.

This is now 11-straight games which have been televised locally for the Raiders. The last blacked out home game came against Cleveland in week 13 of the 2012 season.

Helping matter tremendously was are the tarps which were added this season to cover up the most upper portions of the stadium which include Mt Davis and a couple sections of the third deck adjacent to it. It brought the attendance down from 63,000 to about 54,000.

Even still, the stadium has been sold out more times than not and for a team that had all of 4 wins last season, playing an out of division game, selling out is an accomplishment even in a 54k seat stadium.
