Maurice Jones-Drew among Raiders inactives, Latavius Murray to see first NFL carry

New, comments

The inactives are out for the Raiders vs the Texans. Among them is Maurice Jones-Drew who had a procedure done on his injured hand last week. In his absence, Latavius Murray is expected to see some carries in this game. It would be his first as an NFL player.

After a season on injured reserve and last week receiving no carries as the third running back, Latavius Murray will get his first extensive regular season action at running back. He will get some carries behind starter, Darren McFadden.

The second-year back out of Central Florida looked very good this preseason and has also taken over kick return duties. The man who was supposed to be the team's kick returner this season was Taiwan Jones, who was just placed on injured reserve. No more talk of potential, for Latavius Murray the time is now.

Here is the entire list of inactives:

QB Matt McGloin
RB Maurice Jones-Drew
S Jonathan Dowling
LB Nick Roach
G Tony Bergstrom
T Matt McCants
DE Shelby Harris

QB Tom Savage
S Shilo Keo
OLB Jadeveon Clowney
TE C.J. Fiedorwicz
WR DeVier Posey
NT Louis Nix
OT Jeff Adams
