Both Rod Streater and Tyvon Branch left the tough loss to the Patriots early with injuries. Our own Levi Damien is reporting that Dennis Allen has revealed that both players have broken bones within their feet.
It is incredibly unfortunate news for the Raiders, as both players are key contributors to the team. Rod Streater has been the most consistent wide receiver for the team since he was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2012 and Tyvon Branch is a huge presence in the secondary at strong safety.
There are no timetables available as of yet for the injuries, but both will surely be out for several weeks at the least. In fact, there is a very real possibility that one or both of them could end up on the Injured Reserve list which would mean they would be lost for the season. There is also the option of Injured Reserve/Designated to Return which would allow the player chosen to come back after 8 weeks. Only one player can be chosen as designated to return.
It seems like a cruel joke for the Raiders to have lost two of the best players on their team in a heartbreaking loss like this. They finally showed some competitiveness in the 2014 season but it still wasn't good enough. Besides losing the game they also have lost two very important pieces to their already struggling team.
