As if Derek Carr needed any more challenges thrown his way, he'll be without the guy many believed would be his number one season this year — Rod Streater.
According to Streater's agent, the third-year receiver will miss 4-5 weeks following minor foot surgery stemming from an injury sustained during Sunday's 16-9 loss to the New England Patriots. Streater has 9 catches for 84 yards this season on 13 targets, but many had higher expectations for the former Temple grad after recording 60 catches for 888 yards last season.
In Streater's absence, the Raiders will lean more heavily on receivers Denarius Moore, James Jones, Andre Holmes as well as newcomer Vincent Brown when they face the Dolphins in London this Sunday.
This news comes on the heels of other bad news for Oakland, as it was announced earlier today that safety Tyvon Branch will be place on injured reserve and miss the remainder of this season due to a similar surgery on his broken foot.
