To literally add injury to insult, Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr left their game against the Dolphins with an injury to his ankle and foot. He suffered the injury in the third quarter when he scrambled up the middle for 8-yards and came down awkwardly on the tackle.
At the time he left the game, Carr was 17 of 26 for 161 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He had a passer rating of 79.2. The Raiders were down 31-7 when he left the game.
Carr was replaced by Matt McGloin who had an errant snap from Stefen Wisniewski out of the shotgun recovered by Dolphins cornerback Cortland Finnegan and returned for a touchdown.
McGloin later led the Raiders on a touchdown drive but with it being the waning minutes of the fourth quarter, it didn't matter much. The severity of Carr's injury is not yet known. He will be evaluated and we should know more later this week.
