Finally, football that matters is here. The Raiders head to New York to face the Jets.

2013 record:  8-8

Key Jets additions:

Round one pick, Calvin Pryor takes over at free safety.

Round two pick Jace Amaro upgades the tight end position

Free agent running back Chris Johnson. The former 2000-yard rusher comes over from the Titans and will look to give the Jets a run game there didn't have last season.

Eric Decker comes over from the Broncos where he had surpassed 1000 yards the past two seasons. He won't have Peyton Manning throwing to him anymore so it will be interesting to see if he can have near the same success in New York.

Mike Vick joined the Jets but second year quarterback Geno Smith will start.

Former Jets on the Raiders:

Austin Howard leaves the Jets in the lurch at right tackle. He came to the Raiders on the first day of free agency and starts at right guard.

The Raiders added Ras-I Dowling to the practice squad. The former Patriots round two pick spent last season with the Jets.

Here is the ongoing conversation between myself and David Wyatt from SB Nation Jets blog, Gang Green Nation. We will keep talking for the next few hours so keep checking back to see how it develops.

Also, if there is anything you would like to know, toss it in the comment box and I'll see if I can get to it.
