Happy New Year everyone! While many of you nurse your hangovers you will find that today is the day that the long awaited College Football playoffs is to begin. This is the start of a new era in NCAA Football where four teams each have an equal shot to become the 2014 National Champion.
Given the close proximity to California and the many Oakland recruits many today will be rooting for the Oregon Ducks to beat the defending champion Florida St Seminoles. Their match up is this year's Rose Bowl in Pasadena California. It will be played at 2pm PT/5pm ET and will be televised on ESPN.
The next playoff match up will be between the Ohio St Buckeyes and the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl. That action will begin following the Ducks/Seminoles game and will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is slated to begin at 5:3Opm PT/8:30pm ET.
Get your popcorn ready because it promises to be a fun day of college football. There will be plenty of players from all four teams that will be entering the 2015 NFL Draft so take notice and discuss if you see someone the Oakland Raiders should consider drafting! The winners will face off against each other for the National Championship on Monday, January 12th.
