So, this is getting interesting it would seem. With the scheduled follow-up interview having taken place today between Raiders brass and Jack Del Rio, there are now reports that Mark Davis and Reggie McKenzie are in disagreement as to whom each would prefer as the team's next head coach.
Mark Davis had already met with Jack Del Rio last week without Reggie McKenzie along. The second interview is customary but in this case it also gave McKenzie a chance to be a part of the decision making as to the next coach. According to reports, McKenzie was not convinced Del Rio is a better option than Interim Head Coach, Tony Sparano. While Mark Davis is ready to hire Jack Del Rio.
Sparano was at Raiders headquarters which prompted the interview with Jack Del Rio to happen off-site. After the interview occurred, McKenzie and Davis didn't see things eye to eye.
This time a year ago, Mark gave in to McKenzie when he said he wanted to keep Dennis Allen as head coach. And after that experiment failed (again), Davis it would seem, is standing his ground on his choice.
