The Seahawks are the returning Super Bowl champions after an incredible comeback win over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. They feature the best defense in the NFL dubbed "The Legion of Boom", with star players such as Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, and Richard Sherman. The offense features Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch at running back and Russell Wilson at quarterback.

The Patriots blew out the Indianapolis Colts to take the AFC crown. They are led by Tom Brady at quarterback and his favorite target, tight end Rob Gronkowski on offense and Darrelle Revis on defense.

Both teams were the number one seed on the respective conferences coming into the playoffs.
