Raiders week 5 snap counts: Mario Edwards makes most of his most extensive work of season

New, comments
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Outside of Amari Cooper, the Raiders haven't gotten much playing time from their rookie class this season. Third round pick tight end Clive Walford was supposed to have had a few starts under his belt by this point, or at least played extensively, but that has yet to happen. And until this week, second round pick Mario Edwards hadn't seen a lot of time either. That changed Sunday.

Edwards not only was listed as the starting nose tackle, he saw 50 of 58 snaps against the Broncos (86%). He had yet to start a game this season and had seen a total of 79 snaps (10, 27, 15, 27). through four games.

As a result of his newfound snaps, he finished with six tackles (3 solo) which was tied with Khalil Mack for the team lead. He also had half sack and a hurry.

Here are all the Raiders snap counts from week five against the Broncos
