The Oakland Raiders have a fairly early bye week this year, this being just Week 6 in the 2015 season. Like anything else in football, whether or not that is a good thing is always in the eye of the beholder. Therefore, I wanted to ask the Raider Nation what they think of the timing of this year's bye week.
3 Reasons the bye week is coming at a good time for Raiders
-
They have enough injuries to key players on the team that they could use the week off to get more healthy as a team. Currently or recently injuried players that could use the week off include Charles Woodson, T.J. Carrie, Latavius Murray, Michael Crabtree and Justin Ellis. I would have included Justin Tuck, but his season ended today after going on Injured Reserve.

Oakland has lost 2 straight games that were within their grasp of winning, this bye week is a good chance to take a longer look at what they have to fix. A week off now gives them a chance to try to fine tune the team to fix the small issues that have had big consequences.

The next game will be against another divisional opponent and a chance to get back to .500 on the season with a win. It is great to have the week off now for the extra preparation time for such an important game.

Right now the Raiders are playing competitive football in each game of the season except Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals. A week off now could hurt the rhythem and chemistry that they are starting to develop.

There are a fair amount of injuries already, but it could be worse later in the season. Some seasons when the injuries start accumulating like this they don't stop, a bye week later in the season might have helped more people.
-
Many times teams fall flat when they come back from their bye week. They would have been better off continuing to play now over risking coming out with the bye week hangover in such an important game against the Chargers.
There are a few reasons for each side, but I am sure our readers will be able to come up with a few more reasons for their side of the conversation. Tell me what you think in the comments section and by voting in the poll below.
