Raiders week 4 snap counts vs Bears: David Amerson now top CB, Amari Cooper plays all but one snap

David Amerson has been with the Raiders all of two weeks. The former second round pick was waived by Washington after week two and claimed by the Raiders. And as of Sunday in Chicago, Amerson is now the team's number one corner.

The third year defensive back led the Raiders secondary in defensive snaps Sunday, seeing the field 75 plays (97%). He also appeared on 3 snaps on special teams. Fellow starting cornerback, DJ Hayden was on the field for 73 snaps (95%). While former top corner, TJ Carrie, continues to line up as the team's starting free safety, replacing Nate Allen who was placed on partial season injured reserve after the season opener.

On offense, the Raiders continue to rely heavily on top drafted rookie receiver, Amari Cooper. He was on the field for 57 of 58 offensive snaps (98%). He also returned a kick.

Also of note is the snap count of tight end Lee Smith. After Mychal Rivera played 20 more snaps than him in the season opener, Smith has led all tight ends in snaps the past three weeks and has now surpassed Rivera for tight end snaps on the season.
