Saturday the Raiders made official what the coaches had been saying all week by activating safety Nate Allen from partial season injured reserve. Allen had been on IR: Designated for return since week two following an MCL injury he suffered in the season opener.
The 6-0, 210-pound safety joined the Raiders this offseason after five seasons in Philadelphia. He started 70 games for the Eagles over those five seasons since the team made him a second round pick out of South Florida in 2010.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders waived return man Marcus Thigpen whom they had signed last week. They also re-signed S Tevin McDonald to the practice squad after the undrafted rookie had been waived on Thursday.
