With the suspension of Aldon Smith, the Raiders have filled his roster spot by calling up defensive end Shelby Harris from the practice squad. In addition, the team added wide receiver and return specialist Jeremy Ross to the practice squad.
Harris was originally a 7th round pick by the Raiders in the 2014 draft out of Illinois State. After spending most of last season on the team's practice squad, Harris has spent one game on the active roster this season.
Ross was waived by the Ravens this week after he had fumbled twice in the past three games. The former Cal Bears wide receiver has played in 39 career NFL games for the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens. He has totaled 39 receptions for 469 yards and two touchdowns, 54 kickoff returns for 1,389 yards and one touchdown and 63 punt returns for 759 yards and one touchdown.
Ross is a native of Sacramento.
