NFL week 12 game picks: Giving Oakland another shot

It's interesting when a team goes on a three-game losing streak and yet each week still offers a reason to think they can win. That's what the Raiders have done over the past month. Much of that has to do with their opponent getting progressively easier each week, starting with the Steelers in Pittsburgh, the Vikings in Oakland, the Lions in Detroit, and now the 2-win Titans in Tennessee.

So, naturally, yet again the consensus of the staff is picking the Raiders. Which if recent history is any indication, that doesn't bode well for the Raiders' chances.

Last week all but one of us (Jeff) picked the Raiders to beat the Lions and we were wrong. Jeff enjoyed a 9-5 record for last week in part due to his correctly picking the Lions to beat the Raiders. But he didn't have the best record of the week. That goes to Marcus who finished 10-4 despite his incorrect Raiders pick. Impressive considering three of the staff had a 7-7 finish for the week.

This week we have eight unanimous picks -- the Panthers and Packers on Thanksgiving Day and the Chiefs, *Raiders, Bengals, Cardinals, Seahawks, and Patriots on Sunday.

The community couldn't reach Marcus' week best, but did well overall. Certainly had quite a few do better than my 7-7. And only one of the top prognosticators correctly picked the Raiders to lose (UKRaider). Here are the week's best:
