Seeing Khalil Mack appear on the injury report is always cause for concern simply because he is extremely valuable to the success of the Raiders defense. He did not participate at all in practice Wednesday with a hamstring injury, which he suffered in Sunday's game against the Jets.
On the other hand, based on his history of dependability, there has never turned out to be much about which to be concerned. According to Mack himself, there is once again no reason for worry.
"I'm ok, man, just being real cautious." Mack said of the injury in an interview with Sirius XM NFL radio. "Got a little hamstring tweak, but I'm just being real cautious early in the week, resting it. I just don't want to re-aggravate it. Just taking time. I'm gonna be out there tomorrow full force."
The Raiders will take the field again for their second practice of the week at 2pm today. There is no reason not to take Mack at his word that he will join his teammates at practice at that time as they prepare to head to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers.
