Raiders do Gator shuffle: Place Neiron Ball on injured reserve, activate Leon Orr

As suspected, the Raiders have indeed placed linebacker Neiron Ball on injured reserve. The rookie fifth round pick went out with a knee injury in the team's week 7 game against the Chargers and hadn't returned. It was initially thought he would be out about a month, but as of this week, signs were not promising he would be able to return this season.

Last week Jack Del Rio said the team was considering shutting him down the rest of the way. With Ball officially OUT for Sunday's game against the Broncos with just three games remaining after that, the decision was made.

As we previously reported, Leon Orr was signed from the team's practice squad to the active roster to fill Ball's spot. Orr is an undrafted rookie.

Both Ball and Orr played at Florida, so it's later, Gator, and hello Gator.
