Raiders at Broncos 1st Half Summary: Complete lack of offense has Raiders trailing at half

The Oakland Raiders kick off was a touchback so the Denver Broncos started out with the ball in today's game. Denver with Brock Osweiler under center torched the Raiders secondary going 6 for 6 on the drive. Even with the efficient passing attack the Raiders did finally manage a 3rd down stop to force a 41 yard field goal from the Broncos. Their kicker Brandon McManus kicked it true for a 3-0 lead for Denver.

Derek Carr and the Raiders failed to get anything of substance going on offense and were forced to punt quickly on their drive. The Broncos on the other hand had no trouble moving the ball whatsoever until they got inside the Raiders 20. Again Denver faltered once they got into field goal range and had to settle for another field goal kick for a 6-0 lead.

The next three drives were all 3 and outs, one by the Broncos surrounded by 2 from Oakland. It would have been another 3 and out following that from Denver except a Neiko Thorpe holding penalty kept the Broncos on the field. Shortly after that, the Raiders defense came up with a big 3rd down stop only to give up a first on the 4th down to a run from Brock Osweiler. Still, the Broncos again failed to get into the endzone and had to settle for another field goal to make the score 9-0.

The Raiders offense has done absolutely nothing up to this point, in fact they have done less than nothing as they have a net total of -14 yards with just over 4 minutes to go in the half. They managed to get 3 of those yards back but no more on their next drive. Another Raiders drive and another 3 and out with a Marquette King punt.

Oakland's defense once again continued their bend but don't break defense despite Osweiler completing almost everything he is throwing before getting into striking territory. When the Broncos have gotten down to near the end zone the Raiders defense has stopped them though. This time they were inside the 5 yard line and still couldn't get in for a touchdown, they took the field goal again for a 12-0 lead.

A final play of the half kneel down brought the teams into the locker rooms with the Broncos having that 12-0 lead. This really should be a total wipe out at this point but the Raiders defense has kept them in the game. The offense did nothing to help out, they have -12 yards at the half with their longest play being 4 yards.
