The Pro Bowl polls are closed. And just as the first week they were opened, Charles Woodson led all vote getters at the safety position. Woodson finishes with 318,248 votes which was the top vote getter at strong safety by a wide margin over next finisher Kam Chancelllor with 163,859 votes.
At one point this season, Woodson tied for the league lead with 5 interceptions. Though he hasn't had any interceptions over the past six weeks, he is still tied for third most interceptions in the NFL, behind only Reggie Nelson (8) and Kurt Coleman (7) who are both free safeties. Coleman leads free safeties in Pro Bowl votes.
Also finishing among the top two was Marcel Reece at the fullback position.
Despite nine sacks the past three weeks, Khalil Mack was unable to crack the top two vote getters at defensive end. Those two spots remain JJ Watt and Chandler Jones.
The fans vote is 1/3 of the deciding factor on who makes the Pro Bowl. The players and coaches comprise the other 2/3 of the vote. Players and coaches will cast their votes on Friday December 18 (tomorrow).
The 2016 Pro Bowl players will be revealed exclusively on NFL Network on Tuesday, December 22 at 8:00 PM ET on NFL Network.
