Bad news for the Raiders offensive line came down the wire today, starting right tackle Austin Howard has been placed on Injured Reserve. We already knew that Howard was going to miss this upcoming game tomorrow against Green Bay but the knee injury he sustained last week against the Broncos is serious enough to end his season.
It's a disappointing finish to a bounce back season for Austin Howard, he had played well after returning to his original position on the outside as opposed to the inside as a guard. Hopefully he recovers well and comes back strong again next year to fight for his starting job all over again.
The Raiders had already announced that they moved J'Marcus Webb to right tackle and are starting rookie Jon Feliciano at the right guard spot that Webb is leaving to take over as right tackle. We would expect that to now carryover to the final games of the season as well.
The Raiders have signed S Tevin McDonald to the active roster from the practice squad to take the spot now vacated by Austin Howard.
