Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints Monday Night Football open thread

New, comments
Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

We should be in for a shootout tonight in the Monday Night Football match up between the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints. Both teams have been eliminated from the playoffs but they both are a lot better on offense than they are on defense.

The Lions have the Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson combination that is always deadly. My fantasy football team only needs about 40 points from Calvin tonight in fact so hopefully he has a huge night! That's just a pipe dream for me but there are lots of people out there watching this game intently for their fantasy football playoffs.

As for the Saints, it's all about Drew Brees. Despite advancing in age Drew Brees has had another very successful offensive season. Just imagine what he could accomplish with a solid defense! There are certainly a lot of people relying on Drew to have a big game too.

For the staff picks Jeff and Tyler picked Detroit while the rest of the staff picked New Orleans to win this game.
