With the Raiders getting back in the win column last week against the Titans, they had a couple of performers nominated for weekly awards and both of them won in their categories. Derek Carr has been voted the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week, and Amari Cooper is your Pepsi Rookie of the Week.
Carr's clutch performance came when he hit Seth Roberts from 12 yards out for the game-winning touchdown late for a 24-21 come-from-behind victory. He had an impressive line completing 24 of 37 passes for 330 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions and a 120.3 QB rating. On the final drive, Carr completed 6-of-9 passes for 85 yards and 1 touchdown.
Amari Cooper caught 7 passes for 115 yards to win Rookie of the Week. In the game against Tennessee, Cooper broke the Raiders rookie receiving yardage record held by James Jett since 1993. This is Cooper's fourth nomination, and he won the award in Weeks 7 and 9.
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the "5th Annual NFL Honors" awards show in San Francisco on CBS on Saturday, Feb. 6, the night before Super Bowl 50.
This is Pepsi's 14th year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the 13th year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.
