Former Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton visiting Raiders

On the eve of free agency, in a cost cutting move the Saints cut starting linebacker Curtis Lofton. He immediately jumped on the Raiders radar as the team is in much need of a middle linebacker and have scheduled him for a visit according to Adam Caplan.

The former round two pick has started every single game  in his seven year career as a middle linebacker with the Falcons and Saints. He is just 28 years old and has at times in his career been considered one of the better middle linebackers in the NFL. He has averaged 128 combined tackles per season in his seven NFL seasons.

Though last season he was among the worst graded linebackers in football by Pro Football Focus, he had an astounding 145 combined tackles (100 solo) on an overall terrible Saints defense.
