Raiders contract talks with Jermaine Gresham 'dead for now'

We have our first reported visiting player for the Raiders who failed to reach an agreement with the team. And with that, the mysterious status of Jermaine Gresham finally has some resolution. According to Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle, the team had long talks with Gresham's people and they could not come to an agreement to add the tight end.

The former Pro Bowl tight end had reported interest from the Raiders very early on in the process. He visited the facility over the past couple days and the last update prior to this was that a signing wasn't imminent, however that still left the door open for the two sides to agree to the terms currently on the table. That ship looks to have sailed.
