Raiders get official word on 2015 compensatory picks

New, comments
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL has announced the teams who will receive compensatory picks and as expected the Raiders will not receive any. This was expected based on the team having a net gain of free agents signed compared to players lost in free agency. Remember players who were cut do not count toward to total.

Lost

Jared Veldheer, Lamarr Houston, Rashad Jennings, Vance Walker, Tracy Porter, Mike Jenkins

Gained

Austin Howard, Justin Tuck, James Jones, Antonio Smith, Maurice Jones-Drew, Kevin Boothe, Tarell Brown, C.J. Wilson

There are a lot of factors that go into deciding compensatory draft picks, but the number one factor is gains vs losses. Here you see the Raiders had six of their free agents signed by other teams versus eight they added from other teams. More gained than lost means no compensatory picks.

This leaves the Raiders with seven current picks; one in each round.

Here is the Raiders draft position in all seven rounds.
