Chimdi Chekwa has done a bit of jet setting this offseason and ended up right back where he started from. He was one of only two Restricted Free Agents the Raiders opted not to tender prior to the start of free agency, making him an unrestricted free agent. The Patriots then signed him, only to have him on the roster fro two months before cutting him last week.
Chekwa wasn't on the market but a few days and the Raiders have re-signed him, according to Ian Rapoport as through agent Drew Rosenhaus.
Chekwa was originally a fourth round pick by the Raiders in the 2011 draft. He has spent the past four seasons in Oakland appearing in 32 games with 4 starts. He started two games last season for the Raiders as an injury replacement. He typically doesn't play on defense much, seeing most of his field time on special teams.
