2015 NFL Draft Results: At pick 218 in 7th round Oakland Raiders select OT Anthony Morris

New, comments

With the pick the Raiders acquired from a trade with the Buccaneers to move down in the fourth round, they select Tennessee State offensive tackle Anthony Morris.

The 6-6, 317-pounder started 10 games last season for the TSU Tigers. It was his first season as a fulltime starter after being a reserve offensive lineman over his first three seasons. He said his slow rise to starter was due in part to having his knee scoped prior to this junior season and the recovery time put him behind.

The senior tackle anchored a unit that did not allow a sack during the last four ballgames. He helped protect a quarterback duo that threw for 3,268 yards and 23 touchdowns, leading to a No. 18 ranking in FCS, giving up only 1.17 sacks per game.

One has to think with Reggie McKenzie being a Tennessee native, Morris was his find. He wasn't a player who jumped out and has little scouting information available.
